This Privacy Policy explains how Teyon AI, Inc. (Teyon, we, us, or our) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit teyon.ai (the Site), contact us, apply for a job, or use our products and services, including Watcher, XScope, and Inquest (together with the Site, the Services). It also describes the choices and rights you have.
Data we process for customers. When our products run on a customer's infrastructure or process data on a customer's behalf, we handle that data as a service provider or processor under our agreement with that customer. This Policy does not apply to that data; the customer's own privacy practices do. If you have questions about how a Teyon customer handles your information, please contact that customer.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. We collect information you provide directly:
- Contact and demo requests. When you use the contact form or email us, we collect your name, work email address, company, the approximate size of your GPU cluster, the topic of your request, and the message you write.
- Beta and evaluation access. If you request or receive access to Beta Services, we collect your name, email address, company, role, and the credentials and configuration needed to provision access.
- Communications. We keep records of emails, calls, meetings, and support conversations with you.
- Job applications. If you apply for a role, we collect the information in your application, such as your name, contact details, resume, work history, links to professional profiles, and anything else you choose to share. Applications are submitted through a third-party applicant-tracking system that acts on our behalf.
- Events and marketing. If you attend an event we host or sign up for updates, we collect your name, contact details, and your interactions with our communications.
Information we collect automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider's logs record your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time of each request. We use IP addresses to rate-limit the contact form and protect the Site from abuse. If we enable web analytics, we will collect page views and interactions as described in the section on cookies below.
Product telemetry. When you use our products, we may collect information about the product's own operation, such as account and deployment identifiers, software version, configuration, feature usage, performance metrics, and error reports. This telemetry is about the product, not the contents of your Customer Data, and is collected as configured in your deployment and described in your agreement with us.
Information from other sources. We may receive information about you from other sources, such as publicly available professional information (for example, a company website or a professional networking profile) that helps us understand prospective customers, referrals from partners or existing customers, and recruiters.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your inquiries and provide the Services you request, such as a demo, beta access, or support;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services, including debugging, preventing abuse, and developing new features;
- send service communications, such as responses to your request, security notices, and changes to our terms or policies;
- send marketing communications about our products, research, and events, where permitted by law; you can opt out at any time as described below;
- evaluate job applications and manage recruiting;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Teyon, our customers, and others; and
- create aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you, which we may use for any purpose.
3. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal information on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one, such as responding to a demo request or providing Beta Services.
- Legitimate interests, such as operating and securing the Services, understanding prospective customers, marketing to business contacts, recruiting, and enforcing our terms, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent, where we ask for it, such as for non-essential cookies or marketing emails where the law requires consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation, where processing is required to comply with the law.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. In general:
- inquiry and contact records are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up, and longer if a business relationship forms;
- account and beta-access records are kept for the term of your access and for a period afterwards as needed to comply with our obligations and resolve disputes;
- job-application records are kept for the period required by applicable law and, with your consent, longer so we can consider you for future roles;
- Site logs are kept for a short period, typically no more than 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege access for our staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, or you have found a security issue, please contact us at security@teyon.ai.
8. International data transfers
We are based in the United States, and the Services are operated from the United States. Personal information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your country.
Where we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or on another lawful transfer mechanism. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards at privacy@teyon.ai.
9. Your rights and choices
Everyone. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or by emailing us. We may still send you service communications.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. You have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of, or restriction of processing of your personal information; to data portability; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
California. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with which we share it; to request deletion or correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law); and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in the section on information we collect, namely identifiers, professional and employment-related information, commercial information about your interactions with us, and internet or network activity information. California's "Shine the Light" law also lets you ask about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing; we do not make such disclosures.
Other US states. If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, or Virginia, you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sales, and certain profiling. We do not engage in those activities. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
How to exercise your rights. Email us at privacy@teyon.ai. We will need to verify your identity, which we usually do by confirming control of the email address associated with your information. You may authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization and may still verify your identity directly. We respond within the time required by applicable law.
10. Children
The Services are intended for business use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at privacy@teyon.ai and we will delete it.
11. Job applicants
If you apply for a role with us, we use your application to evaluate you for that role and, with your consent, for future roles; to communicate with you about the process; and to comply with employment and record-keeping laws. Applications are collected and stored by a third-party applicant-tracking system acting on our behalf; its own privacy notice applies to its handling of your information in addition to this Policy. We may ask you for voluntary self-identification information where the law requires it; it is kept separately and does not affect hiring decisions.
12. Third-party sites and services
The Site links to third-party sites and services, such as publication venues, patent records, professional networking sites, and our applicant-tracking system. This Policy does not cover them. Their own privacy policies apply.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Policy on the Site with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give more prominent notice, such as by email where we have your address.
14. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about this Policy or our handling of personal information can be sent to privacy@teyon.ai. Teyon AI, Inc. is the controller of personal information collected through the Site.
